Colorfastness to bleaching: Sodium chlorite: Mild

This method is intended for determining the resistance of the colour of textiles composed of natural and regenerated cellulose, and synthetic fibres, to the action of mild bleaching with sodium chlorite as employed in textile processing.

A specimen of the textile in contact with specified adjacent fabrics is treated in a sodium chlorite solution, rinsed and dried. The change in colour of the specimen and the staining of the adjacent fabrics are assessed with the grey scales.
